West Chester Activity Center Adult Fitness Classes

 

Balance Class

10 – 10:30 a.m. Thursdays

$2

This class focuses on increasing lower body strength and improving one’s balance. It is a combination of sitting and standing exercises that works all muscle groups. It is specifically designed for those with balance challenges, but anyone of any fitness level can participate and improve overall fitness.

 

Ball & Band Class

9:30 – 10:15 a.m. Mondays

$4

This class features stretching exercises with resistance bands. It also incorporates medicine ball exercises which help build muscle and burn fat.

 

Bootcamp – LEAN

7– 8 p.m. Mondays

$6 / 10 classes for $50

This class is a full body boot camp style workout. Come and enjoy a boot camp circuit training class that will include upper body, lower body, abs and cardio!

 

Coresolid / Pilates

6– 7 p.m. Wednesdays

$6 / 10 classes for $50

This class is a workout that focuses on the core - the area between the shoulders and the knees. One will tighten their legs, buttocks, thighs, back, abs and more.

 

Fit for Life

10:30 – 11 a.m. Mondays & Wednesdays

$6 / 10 classes for $50

This small group class is a full body workout that will help with strength training, cardiovascular health, flexibility, balance and more!

 

Mat Pilates

5:30 - 6: 15 p.m., Tuesdays

$10 per class

Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine and aim to strengthen the deep torso muscles. It is a complete mat based series of exercises. Bring your exercise mat and wear comfortable, workout attire.

 

Nia

9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays

$4 / $8

This movement technique is a mix of dance, martial arts and yoga. Each class is designed to stretch all joints and muscles while listening to different types of world music.

 

Stability Ball

9:30 – 10:15 a.m. Wednesdays

$4 / $6

This class focuses on strengthening your core and back and helps with balance. It’s a mixture of sitting, standing and floor exercises.

 

Tai Chi

9:15 – 10 a.m. Thursdays

These classes are ideal for beginners. One will learn basic movements, postures and breathing techniques in a slow, controlled fashion. It is specifically designed for arthritis suffers, but will aid in a number of conditions.

 

Yoga

10:45 – 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays

$6 / 10 classes for $50

This standing and floor exercise class stretches and flexes the body, works on better posture, strengthens the muscles and relaxes the participant.

 

Zoga

11 – 11:45 a.m. Thursdays

This stretching class works every part of your body. It is a gentle way to stretch and flex the muscles. It is a combination of standing and floor exercises. One will not only stretch the muscles, but also gain relaxation from participating in the stretching routine.

 

Zumba

6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesdays

When you combine Latin music and exercise, you get Zumba. These dance workouts are created with specific beats and tempo changes in order to gain strength, lose fat, increase your cardio and work major muscle groups!
