Annual Membership Picnic

3:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 28 at the West Chester Activity Center

Cost: $15 per ticket, $20 at the door

Join members and staff for a fried chicken dinner, activities, pie/cake judging contest, and a dance featuring the Franz Klaber Band.  If you are interested in entering a pie or cake into the contest, please contact Susan Costantino at 779-7360.  First, second, and third-place prizes will be awarded! 

Tickets will be sold at the clubs (map to the West Chester Activity Center and a schedule of events available at all prime clubs).

The West Chester club will be closed June 28; the Hamilton and Fairfield clubs will close at 2:00pm.

Potluck Dinner & Grocery Bingo

4:30-7:30 p.m., Monday, May 20

Bring your favorite dish to share, and enjoy an evening of great food and fun!  After dinner, enjoy a few games of bingo sponsored by our local 4H group, or partake in another of your favorite club activities like cards, billiards, ping pong, or chair volleyball.

 

Crafts for a Cause

12:30-3:00 p.m., Wednesdays

The craft group at the West Chester Activity Center has been very busy making gifts for various agencies.  Their projects have included making refrigerator magnets for Home-delivered Meals recipients, huggable dolls and bunnies for hospitalized children, and flower fairies for the Dragonfly Foundation.  One of their current projects is making small blankets for the residents of the Butler County Care Facility.  The group would love to have you join! 

 

Monthly Presentation Series

If you’d like to share a story, talk about a hobby or lead a discussion on a particular subject, contact Susan Costantino at 779-7360 to set up a time to talk with other members in a relaxed, informal setting.  The presentations scheduled for March and April are detailed below.  Please sign up at the front desk if you are interested in attending.

Container Gardening

1:45-2:45 p.m., Wednesday, May 22

Do you love plants but don’t have the space or desire maintain a large garden?  A big pot filled with flowers, vegetables, or herbs may be just the answer.  Join Master Gardener Chris McCullough for a presentation and demonstration on choosing and planting the best items for your container.  Gardening has been shown to reduce stress, increase self-confidence, and improve physical well-being.  Plus, it can be a lot of fun, so don’t miss out.  Sign up at the front desk today! 

 

The History of the Voice of America Bethany Relay Station

1:45-2:45 p.m., Wednesday, June 19

This presentation will take place at the VOA Museum, located at 8070 Tylersville Road.  Attendees will be treated to a private tour of the museum, and will learn the history of the station, built in 1944 in response to the attack on Pearl Harbor.  Because of its innovative design and remarkable broadcasting power, VOA was able to share America’s message of freedom throughout the world for 50 years.  If you would like to attend, please sign up at the front desk no later than Friday, June 14th.

 

Lunch with Steve Schnabl

11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 5

Partners in Prime President Steve Schnabl will visit the center for lunch and to spend time with the members.  This will be a great opportunity to discuss any questions, concerns, or comments you may have with Steve.

 

Confused by Medicare?

Plan to attend one of the free community meetings conducted each month by United Health Care’ s licensed insurance representatives. Registration is not required, but can be made by calling Leslie at 513.603.6454.
